Kingston of Miamisburg has an opportunity for an experienced Director of Staff Development . The purpose of this position is to plan, implement and deliver staff education and in-service programs in compliance with regulatory requirements and in response to the educational and developmental needs of staff. The Director of Staff Development will develop, implement and interpret facility level policies and provide staff with training in new processes, protocols and procedures. Additionally, they will work cooperatively with Home Office Training and Organizational Development to implement new hire orientation and serve as one of facility’s Orientation Trainers.

Train and supervise the efforts of direct caregivers.
Assess resident needs and develop and deliver staff training to ensure staff have the skills and abilities needed to provide safe, effective and compassionate resident care.
Plan, implement, direct and evaluate the facility's education program in compliance with federal, state and local regulations.
Evaluate staff training needs and develop group and individual in-services to improve overall quality of care.

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
Possess current license in good standing as a Registered Nurse issued by facility's State.
Minimum of 2 years of experience as professional nurse in long term care setting.
Have a positive attitude toward the elderly.
Completion of a certified train-the-trainer program or post-secondary training in principles of adult learning, workplace education and training or combination of training and experience as a peer trainer.
Mastery of body mechanics and demonstrated ability to teach safe resident lifting, transferring and transport by demonstration.
Knowledgeable of general, rehabilitative and restorative nursing practices and procedures and the laws, regulations and guidelines governing licensed long term care.
Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
